Some of you may not know this, but I lost two of my friends last month, one (Adam) died in his sleep and the other (Mrs. Rose) was unable to over come her long-time battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  In her honor and to also in support of her son, my friend Bejay, I will be participating in New York City’s Walk MS event on Sunday, April 19.  I am raising $100.  If anyone would like to donate $5 to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, just click on the link below.  There, you will be given a link to either “Donate to Grace” or  “Donate to Participant.”

I just finished a grueling semester that has left me rather neglectful of the 1 to 2 people who read this blog.    Expect some new stuff from me soon and a link to photos from the art show, which (by the way) was rather successful.  I've been working on some different/new stuff recesently and I don't know where to begin.  Hopefully, you'll be seeing that soon.

Great news!  We are extending the deadline from October 1st to October 10th and the physical drop-off date to October 14th.  Yay!  So far we have 14 artists participating and 10 potentials.  Thank you everyone.  There are also spoken-word artist performing early in the evening and we are looking for a dj.  We might even have access to an overhead projector, so if any film and media people want to get involved, that would be great as well.  If you can't be a part of the show, you should come anyway!  There'll be wine!

I'm pretty sure that you have all seen that ad.  The fact that the actual destination in Africa is not named, makes me think that it doesn't exist.  Not to mention, the idea that a girl in Africa will turn down a chance to go to school because of her PERIOD is ludicrous!  Of all the women I have met, there are none  would have missed the chance to go to school for free!  Let's be honest here.  Even if there were a place within that ENTIRE continent that didn't have any (God forbid) pads, don't you think the ladies there would be using some "centuries old" method that has less likely a chance of giving them Cervical Cancer?

Which is just as vague and insulting.  Chances are that the rest of you aren't African Women, but if I were you, I'd be pissed off at the fact that my intelligence isn't  being respected.  "Southern Africa" is a very big place that holds a lot more than South Africa (the country.)  The only thing I can think of, is that they are probably trying to corner the "sanitary" market over there.
